DocMate – Terms of Service
DOCMATE TERMS OF SERVICE
Effective Date: 22 September 2026
Last Updated: 4 October 2026
Applies To: DocMate for Android, Version 1.0
Developer: Aditi Software
Contact: support@aditisoftware.in
1. OPERATOR AND SCOPE
These Terms govern your use of DocMate, an Android document scanning, image-processing, and PDF application provided by Aditi Software ("we", "us", or "our").
Service and legal contact: support@aditisoftware.in
Read these Terms before using DocMate. By using the application, you agree to these Terms to the extent that agreement by use is recognized under applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using the application. Nothing in these Terms removes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or restrict.
The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled and is available at:
https://aditisoftware.in/docmate-privacy-policy/
These Terms are available at:
2. ELIGIBILITY AND AUTHORITY
You must have the legal capacity or authorization necessary to use DocMate and accept these Terms. If you use it for an organization, you must have authority to do so and comply with that organization's information-handling rules.
DocMate is a general-purpose Android document utility. If you cannot legally accept these Terms on your own, use the app only with the authorization and supervision of a parent, guardian, or other person legally entitled to authorize your use. These Terms do not authorize anyone to disregard applicable age restrictions or app-store requirements.
3. WHAT DOCMATE PROVIDES
Available workflows in the current application include:
- Capturing document pages with a supported device camera and importing selected images.
- Reviewing, retaking, cropping, rotating, and reordering images, and creating a PDF.
- Resizing an image and saving JPEG or PNG output.
- Joining PDFs, splitting PDFs by selected pages or ranges, and attempting lossless PDF compression.
- Converting selected PDF pages to PNG or JPEG images.
- Organizing tracked outputs in a local file library, including search, favorites, renaming, opening, sharing, and deletion, and organizing converted PDF images into collections.
Availability depends on your Android device, permissions, supported file formats, and application version. The current OCR to PDF, Protect PDF, and dedicated Delete Pages screens are not available tools. Removing an image from an editing session is separate from editing or deleting pages in an existing PDF. A future or unavailable feature is not a promise of delivery.
DocMate v1.0 has no advertisements, advertising network, behavioral tracking, usage-analytics service, or remote crash-reporting service. It does not upload your documents to Aditi Software for processing or AI training and does not use an online AI or OCR service. The DocMate Privacy Policy explains data handling, permissions, metadata, cache, backup, clipboard, and your controls.
Core processing occurs on your device. DocMate does not provide an operator-hosted document repository, collaboration service, remote document recovery, or cloud synchronization. Cloud-backed file providers, sharing destinations, operating-system services, or external legal pages may require connectivity even though document processing itself is local.
4. ACCOUNTS, AUTHENTICATION, AND DEVICE ACCESS
Device permissions depend on the feature and Android version. See the Privacy Policy’s Android permissions section for the permission and file-access details.
The current application does not require a DocMate account, password, or sign-in. It does not include an application-specific password or biometric lock. Any account needed by your device, app store, file provider, backup service, or sharing destination belongs to that separate service.
You are responsible for access to your device and the locations where you save documents. Grant only permissions appropriate for your intended use. Declining or revoking a permission may prevent a related workflow from operating. The Privacy Policy describes permissions and storage behavior in more detail.
5. LICENSE AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Subject to these Terms and applicable distribution terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to install and use DocMate on devices you are authorized to use for lawful document-processing purposes. This license does not transfer ownership of the application, its branding, or other intellectual property to you.
Do not redistribute or sell unauthorized copies, misrepresent the application as your own, or remove proprietary notices. Restrictions on reverse engineering, modification, or circumvention apply only to the extent permitted by law and do not override statutory rights, interoperability rights, or rights under an applicable open-source license.
Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses. These Terms do not replace those licenses or grant rights in third-party trademarks or content.
6. YOUR CONTENT AND ACCEPTABLE USE
You retain your rights in documents, images, and other material you process. Using DocMate does not transfer ownership of your content to us. The app processes and stores it to perform the operations you request. No license to publish, sell, or use your local documents to train AI is granted by these Terms.
You must have the necessary rights or authorization to capture, import, alter, store, and share material, including permission to handle personal information where required. You are responsible for choosing appropriate recipients and destinations and for your resulting use of outputs.
Do not use DocMate to:
- Infringe copyright, confidentiality, privacy, or other rights.
- Create or distribute unlawful material, fraudulent records, forged credentials, or deceptive documents.
- Obtain unauthorized access to devices, documents, accounts, or storage, or unlawfully bypass document access restrictions.
- Introduce malicious files or deliberately interfere with the application or systems used by others.
DocMate does not operate a public content-hosting or moderation service. These restrictions do not imply that we inspect or remotely monitor your local documents.
7. OUTPUT QUALITY AND DOCUMENT RESPONSIBILITY
Review outputs before relying on them. Automatic cropping and enhancement can alter appearance or omit content. Resizing and image encoding can reduce detail; PDF-to-image conversion produces images rather than an editable or searchable reproduction of every PDF feature. Rendering and processing may affect formatting, annotations, forms, links, signatures, embedded content, or metadata.
PDF compression attempts lossless size reduction, but does not guarantee a smaller file. An already optimized document may retain its original size. Unsupported, damaged, encrypted, password-protected, or very large files may fail to process. Device memory, storage space, or an interruption can affect completion, and previously saved parts of a multi-file operation may remain after an error or cancellation.
DocMate does not certify the authenticity, completeness, legal validity, accessibility, or evidentiary status of any source or output. It is not a substitute for professional advice, a certified records system, a redaction tool, or a secure document vault. Conversion does not guarantee removal of hidden information or preservation of digital-signature validity. Keep originals where necessary and verify documents against the requirements of the intended recipient or use.
8. SAVING, SHARING, BACKUP, AND DELETION
Save destinations differ by workflow and Android storage configuration. The current Settings screen has no save-location picker. Scanned PDFs may use a previously stored destination, while other tools use their own output folders. On Android, the "Internal Storage" option can mean shared Downloads storage rather than private app storage. Check the saved destination before assuming a file is private.
Automatic outputs may be saved under Downloads/AditiSoft/pdf, Documents/AditiSoft/Pdf, or Downloads/AditiSoft/Images. A supported system save interface can use a destination you select. Shared folders are not an encrypted private DocMate vault.
The Files screen is an index of tracked outputs, not a complete backup of your device. For library limits and file-retention behavior, see data retention and deletion. For steps to find and manage an output, see the DocMate guide.
Generated files have no fixed automatic deletion period, and interrupted operations may leave temporary or partially completed output. The Privacy Policy explains temporary files and sharing copies, including copies that remain after an original is deleted.
Opening a file in another application, copying a file reference to the clipboard, or sharing an output can expose its content or location to that application or system service. A shared file may be copied, uploaded, retained, or forwarded by a recipient. DocMate cannot recall those copies.
Keep appropriate backups of important material. DocMate does not provide a recovery or restoration service. Operating-system backups and synchronized folders operate separately; Android application backup is enabled, subject to your device and provider settings.
Confirmed file deletion removes the selected saved file when the operation succeeds. Deleting a converted-image collection deletes its generated images, while preserving its source PDF. Removing a page from a working document does not erase an imported original. Deletion is not guaranteed secure erasure and does not remove separately retained cache copies, clipboard history, backups, or recipient copies. Uninstalling normally removes app-specific records and caches, but shared Downloads/Documents outputs and external copies normally remain. Eligible Android backup records may be restored on reinstall. See the Privacy Policy for retention details.
9. PRICING, PAYMENTS, AND REFUNDS
The current app has no integrated checkout, in-app purchase, subscription billing, or recurring-payment workflow. It does not ask for or process card or bank-account details. This does not establish whether a distributor charges to obtain the app.
Any price for obtaining DocMate will be shown by the distributor before purchase. These Terms do not promise that distribution will always be free. For a store purchase, use the applicable store purchase history or support process for refund requests, or contact support@aditisoftware.in for assistance. Statutory rights remain unaffected.
Where a distributor charges for a download, the disclosed transaction terms, applicable store rules, and mandatory consumer law govern that purchase. These Terms do not exclude any statutory refund, withdrawal, repair, replacement, price-reduction, or other remedy. Installing or using the current app does not itself authorize a future recurring charge. Any future paid offering must disclose its terms and obtain the authorization required by law before charging you.
10. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND COMPONENTS
DocMate relies on Android camera, storage, file-picker, rendering, clipboard, and sharing facilities, and software components such as .NET MAUI, MAUI Community Toolkit, SkiaSharp, AditiSoft libraries, and PDFsharp. Local processing libraries are not, by that fact alone, online document-processing services.
AndroidX EmojiCompat may automatically request an emoji font from a system font provider, such as Google Play services, after startup. The provider may download the font and log request-related information. DocMate does not send document contents to the font provider for this purpose. Android backup can also operate automatically according to device and account settings.
Aditi Software does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party applications, system services, or providers involved in these interactions.
Apps you choose to open files, cloud or backup providers, device manufacturers, app stores, and external websites operate under their own terms and privacy notices. Their availability and behavior may affect your workflow. We do not control their independent services, and linking to or interoperating with them does not transfer your rights in a document to us. This clause does not exclude responsibility that applicable law places on us for our own product or providers acting on our behalf.
11. UPDATES, SUPPORT, AND AVAILABILITY
Google Play handles installation and updates obtained through its store under its own terms. DocMate v1.0 does not implement its own remote application-update checking service.
Features and supported environments may change with releases. We may provide updates to address defects, compatibility, or security, and may change or discontinue features subject to applicable law and any commitments made when you obtained the app. These Terms do not promise a particular release schedule, uninterrupted operation, or indefinite support for every device. They do not limit legally required updates, notices, or remedies.
For support, contact support@aditisoftware.in. Do not send confidential documents or unnecessary personal information. No fixed response time or support period is promised by these Terms, except where required by law or expressly agreed. Material changes will be described in updated Terms or release information, with additional notice where required by law.
Keep the app and operating system updated where practicable. Stopping development or support does not give us permission to access or remotely erase your local documents.
12. DISCLAIMERS AND LIABILITY
To the extent permitted by applicable law, DocMate is provided "as is" and "as available" without additional promises of error-free operation, fitness for every purpose, or compatibility with every file, device, or third-party service. This wording does not override express commitments we make or statutory requirements for digital content, reasonable care, quality, or fitness where those apply.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable from a breach of these Terms, or for losses caused solely by your unlawful use or an independent third party outside our control. This does not excuse our own legally actionable conduct or exclude liability merely because a loss involves a document, device, or third-party service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence where such liability cannot be excluded, intentional wrongdoing, or any other liability that applicable law prohibits limiting. Your non-waivable consumer and data-protection rights remain intact. No fixed monetary liability cap is imposed by these Terms.
13. ENDING USE
You may stop using DocMate at any time. Preserve any files you need, then remove app data and uninstall using the appropriate system controls. There is no DocMate account to cancel or integrated subscription to terminate in the current version. Removal of locally stored and externally retained information is addressed in Section 8 and the Privacy Policy.
Subject to applicable law, we may terminate the software license for a material breach of these Terms, with notice and a reasonable opportunity to remedy the breach where appropriate or legally required. This is a contractual provision, not a statement that the current app has a remote account-suspension or document-deletion system.
Ending the license does not transfer ownership of your content or eliminate accrued rights, payment remedies, or statutory obligations. Provisions concerning intellectual property, previously incurred liability, and disputes continue to the extent needed to give them effect.
14. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
Applicable law determines the rights and obligations of the parties and the courts or other bodies competent to hear a dispute. These Terms do not designate an exclusive court or override mandatory consumer protections. You may contact support@aditisoftware.in to raise a complaint or seek an informal resolution.
Any chosen law or forum is subject to mandatory protections and jurisdiction rules available to you as a consumer. These Terms do not require binding arbitration, waive class or collective proceedings, or prevent you from contacting a regulator or exercising a legally protected right to bring a claim.
You may contact us at the address in Section 1 to seek an informal resolution. Doing so is not a condition that removes an otherwise available legal remedy or changes a legal limitation period.
15. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS AND GENERAL PROVISIONS
Revised Terms will identify their update and effective dates. Material changes require the notice and, where applicable, agreement required by law. Changes do not retrospectively remove accrued rights. Merely posting a revision does not establish consent where the law requires an additional step.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue only to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later. These Terms, any applicable purchase terms, and mandatory law govern the relevant use of DocMate; third-party software licenses continue to govern their respective components.
For service, legal, or accessibility questions, use the contact details in Section 1. For personal-information requests, use the privacy contact listed in the Privacy Policy.
